Large, elaborately crafted filigree cross pendant in 925 sterling silver from the renowned filigree tradition of northern Portugal (Porto/Gondomar region). Dating approximately 1880–1920.
The cross features exceptionally fine scrollwork filigree across its entire surface, with elegantly curved arms and decorative terminals. At the centre, a natural faceted blue zircon of approximately 1–1.5 ct is set in a round bezel setting. The stone displays a vivid aqua-blue colour with excellent brilliance and — notably — a pronounced garnet-red fluorescence under UV light, conclusively confirming it as natural zircon.
The reverse shows clean construction with Portuguese hallmarks: a 925 fineness stamp and a round assay mark, consistent with the Porto assay office.
