Chronographe Lowenthal — Vintage Tachymeter/Telemeter Chronograph, Stainless Steel, ca. 1940
CHF 450.00
A fine vintage Swiss chronograph retailed by Chronographe Lowenthal, Brussels, dating to approximately 1935–1945. The cream-coloured dial presents a classic multi-scale layout with outer télémètre scale printed in blue, inner tachymetre graduation, and Arabic hour numerals in a period typeface. Two subsidiary registers at 9 and 3 o'clock serve running seconds and 30-minute recording respectively. Blued steel hands throughout, including a slender central chronograph hand. The round stainless steel case — confirmed ACIER INOXYDABLE — retains its original snap-back and houses a Swiss lever ebauche, most likely a column-wheel Valjoux calibre. Case serial 47031. The dial shows honest age patina consistent with its period. A replacement leather strap is fitted. Movement condition unverified; service recommended. A characterful pre-war Belgian-market chronograph in a desirable stainless case.
